I have been reviewing this product and tried it out on a couple of my sites. Took the whole course of the web2.0 thing from an over priced community (personal opinion)

Anyway there software was good, but you only got to use it if you paid the price. And that meant you needed to stay with their course.

So just wanted to say thanks for the post. I am not very good with grammar so I don't blog much but I need to start putting out that bait.

Thanks for the responses to the other social sites so I can review them as well.

Have you tried Bookmarking Demon? It automates the process of creating accounts and could be used as a spam tool if used improperly. I've considered buying it but think I'll give social marker a try first.

Hi Mike, thanks for dropping the comment. Let me ask you this... if you have an interest in creating your own blend of SocialMarker, what are some things that you'd find to improve on? No point in duplicating something that many other people already have done, unless its something you think its worth competing in... so I'd like to believe that you see a window of improving an existing successful system. What are some opportunities that many of these sites such as the mentioned SocialMarker.com have for improving?

I've been using SocialMarker for about 4 months now and it is great :) There are other sites similar to it, but I forgot them. The other sites may be better than SocialMarker because it is more simple with a 2 color scheme and no ads. I've been wanting to create a site like this, so maybe you will see it soon? :)

I absolutely love SocialMarker. I must admit though that I have been using Socialposter.com more lately. It have a function that carves out the dofollow bookmarking sites so that you can focus on getting dofollow backlinks. THis feature is awesome.

See that is another thing too... each network has their high concentrations of certain topics. For sure it is a great idea to spent a little bit of time in each network to get a scope for what kind of content is primarily submitted in. Also a very quick indication would be to do a quick scan on their categories.

Yeah man... this is the one of the best things I have seen in awhile. I did the same thing, I registered for an account with most off the networks that I was interested in.

Here is another tip I'd like to mention, but didn't in the post because I didn't want to make the post long and drawn out. As people are registering for these social bookmarking and network sites, do things right and get yourself started on the right foot.

Remember that when you join these many different networks that you're the new guy or gal in school here. You can't just enter into their territory with ill intentions. Most all of these networks are great places and if people have the perception that you've entered into their domain for the purpose of scoring traffic, then they'll shun you.

Invest time into each network. Take time to properly fill out your profile page by adding a bio about yourself. Include a picture of yourself or a special avatar that you use for brand building. Make sure that you answer all the questions made available on your profile page which all allows you to illustrate the unique and creative individual you are.

Secondly, its not all about you and your article and your post. It is more about the community within each environment. Be a contributor in each network. Actively seek out friends and invite your own friends into the network. Build a base, build and establish a reputation and overall just be an open and genuine person.

Make sure that you don't just submit your own material into these network. Use these networks as a tool to not only help boost exposure on your own content but most importantly your friends content and the content submitted by other more established members within the network.

Shedding more light on social bookmarking and social networking sites, most people who contribute in these type of communities are not blogger, they are not web masters and don't even have their own personal sites. They may have a blog, but their blog isn't like our blogs. Commonly they'll have a little AOL blog or MySpace hosted blog - to them, they don't see blogging as we see blogging.

Overall, many people in social networks don't consider themselves to be bloggers and by default, they typically don't like bloggers for the fact that the only interaction they have with bloggers is in dealing with people who come into their network to try to self promote and advertise within their territory.

Contributors of social networking sites are very protective of their community as they have contributes their volunteer time towards shaping and molding the network into what it is today. StumbleUpon.com wouldn't be as great of an environment if it wasn't for the Top Stumblers within the network. And in every social network you're going to have your handful of "Regulars" who handle all the "Checks and Balances" of their network.

Social networks follow the same characteristics of any type of social club. You can't just go walking into a country club at your local golf course and expect to be best buddies with the high profile people in the lounge. You have to take baby steps and you have to slowly work your way in. Perhaps get introduced by someone who is already "In" with the crowd, etc...

I think I definitely need to make space for a post about this in the very near future.
